BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - PACKAGING

TERRITORY: WEST MIDLANDS & SOUTH WEST

£45,000 to £55,000 + COMPANY CAR + BENEFITS + OTE c.£100k

THE COMPANY:

We're proud to partnering with a large and established business within the packaging industry who is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager to focus on the West Midlands and South West territory.

As Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for the Account Management (30% of the time) of their existing distributor partners and seeking out New Business (70% of the time) from new distribution partners.

The successful candidate will need to have a consultative 'value add' sales approach, rather than focusing on price. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven and experienced sales professional looking to jump into a new industry.

THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ROLE:

  • As Business Development Manager, you'll be working within the protective packaging industry focusing on winning and retaining key distribution clients across the West Midlands and South West Territory.
  • Identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts and with new distribution partners, undertaking a consultative value add sell, rather than focusing on price.
  • Attending in-person and video meeting with key decision makers
  • Negotiating contracts and confirming orders
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure success project / order completion.
  • Attending internal team meetings to discuss pipeline opportunities and forecasts.

THE PERSON:

  • Experience within a Business-to-Business field-based Business Development Manager or similar roles, such as Field Sales Executive, Territory Sales Manager or Regional Sales manager
  • Experience within the protective packaging industry is not required, however, any experience of selling to distributors or within a parallel industry would be a significant advantage.
  • Strong sales and business development skills, with a focus on identifying new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in contract negotiation and project management
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
