The Opportunity:
I'm working exclusively with a well-established underwriter looking to expand their team due to an unprecedented recent growth.
They are looking for Underwriters with a range of specialties including but not limited to, Construction, Professional Indemnity, Employers Liability, and Cyber Insurance. Key Responsibilities:
- Review insurance applications and supporting documents to evaluate the level of risk.
- Analyse factors such as applicant's age, health, occupation, and lifestyle to determine risk.
- Determine coverage options, policy terms, and premium rates based on the risk assessment.
- Ensure that policies align with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse relevant data to assess risk.
- Collaborate with insurance agents, brokers, and applicants to gather necessary information.
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and provide explanations when needed.
- Identify potential risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor the performance of existing policies and make adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of the underwriting process and decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Stay updated with changes in the insurance industry, regulations, and emerging trends.
- Adapt underwriting strategies to meet evolving market conditions.
Personal Specification:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Underwriting Commercial Insurance Policies
- Cert CII highly preferred.
- Acturis experience preferred.
- Ability to be analytical with a high attention to detail
