FINANCE MANAGER - PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

CENTRAL LONDON (3 DAYS OFFICE / 2 DAYS HOME)

THE COMPANY:

We're proud to be partnering with highly reputable SME Professional Services business located in the heart of London. The business has been experiencing exceptional growth and they're now looking for a Management Accountant / Finance Manager (Reporting to the FD) to join the team.

The successful candidate will join the business as a Finance Manager, however, they're open to hiring individuals who are at Management Accountant level who are ready for the next step, or an individual who is already operating at Finance Manager level.

HYBRID: The business understands the benefits of hybrid working and offers you the option to work from home 2 days per week, and on the other 3 days, you can work from any of their offices, one being located in South West London, which is in addition to the central London office.

THE FINANCE MANAGER ROLE:

  • Reporting to the FD, you'll be joining the team as the Finance Manager and take responsibility for leading one Accounts Assistant.
  • You'll be managing the end-to-end Management Accounting process, including commentary, reporting for stakeholders, data analysis and identifying actionable insights.
  • Responsible for the annual budgets & forecasts and conducting quarterly reviews. Providing variance analysis and reporting for the board.
  • Management of the month end process including journals and fully reconciled balance sheets
  • Reviewing month end cycle, implementing improvements such as controls, processes and system changes.
  • Providing Finance Business partnering support to various departments on budgets, financial management and awareness of financial performance.
  • Responsible for Cashflow Forecasting and Management, ensuring all ledgers are accurate and full reconciled.
  • Overseeing the General Ledger, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Cashbooks.
  • Reviewing monthly payroll data for accuracy, approving and sending to the payroll partner for payment.
  • Working closely with the external practice on Year End and External Audit

THE PERSON:

  • Must have experience in role such as; Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Senior Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner or similar
  • Experience within a Professional Services / Fee Earning Services business is essential, this could include; Legal, Accountancy, Architecture, Surveyors, Civil Engineering, Recruitment or similar.
  • Ideally full ACA, CIMA or ACCA Qualified, however, exceptional candidates who are Part Qualified, Finalists or Qualified by Experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is key
  • An excellent communicator with strong financial acumen is essential as you'll be providing finance business partnering support to non-financial stakeholders
  • Advanced MS Excel Skills with the ability to do VLookUps, SumIFs, Pivot Tables and more
  • Any experience of Xero and PowerBI would be an advantage but is by no means essential
